PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

To assist the Store Manager in maintaining a positive work environment for employees and a positive shopping environment for the customer providing the highest quality products at the lowest possible prices. To assist the Store Manager in the planning, coordinating and training for the store operation to ensure expense control and overall store profitability.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Primary emphasis in this position is to provide store supervision and employee development and to develop competency in all aspects of store management. This position works closely with the Store Manager and department heads to plan for and achieve maximum sales, proper controls and positive working conditions. Position requires basic operational knowledge and exposure to all departments. This position assumes responsibility for and exposure to all departments. This position assumes responsibility for entire store operations and related decisions as assigned in absence of store manager. Strong supervisory, administrative and employee relations skills are essential. Position requires ability to encourage individual and group effort toward designed goals and to provide training, development and work direction in a supportive and consistent manner.
