Full Job Description Role Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all store operations, including employee management, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. They ensure proper staffing, train staff, conduct performance evaluations, and promote a safe, organized shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, select, train, and retain qualified employees in compliance with labor laws and company policies. Manage store opening and closing, and ensure adequate staffing at all times. Analyze operating statements to identify business trends and opportunities for expense control and profit maximization. Oversee ordering, stocking, presentation, and inventory accuracy, including cycle counts and stock replenishment. Maintain merchandise presentation, pricing, signage, and overall store appearance. Control cash handling, security, and store safety protocols, ensuring financial integrity and compliance. Lead customer service initiatives and foster a positive shopping experience. Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment maintenance. Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications & Skills:
Ability to interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and utilize cash registers for reporting. Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling procedures. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee counseling, with legal compliance awareness. Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; management experience in retail is advantageous. Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations.
Physical & Working Conditions:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds; occasional ladder use; fast-paced environment with moderate noise; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Must have reliable transportation for store-related activities.
