Job Description
Love fashion, love developing a team, and want to run a million dollar business? We're hiring the leader for our Springfield women's resale boutique, and it's a great one. You'd be great at this if you... Get genuinely excited about sales, margins, and hitting a goal Love developing a team — coaching, training, mentoring, growing people Have an eye for fashion, merchandising, and current trends Light up building relationships with customers and remember their kids' names Can run the operations — buying, inventory, scheduling, the details that keep a store humming Make work fun without ever losing sight of the numbers Whether you're coming from teaching, boutique or specialty retail, hospitality, or anywhere you've led a team and hit a goal — if you've made customers feel special, your experience translates here better than you'd think. Sound like you? Then here's the part that'll get you. This isn't a one-note job. A great store runs on three things, and you'd lead your team across all of them: Buying & merchandising. Our buying is the heart of everything. You and your team purchase the right product from the community, hold the quality bar high, and manage margins so we only bring in what will sell. In-store sales & customer experience. You drive sales through genuinely great service and a beautiful, well-merchandised floor. A great-looking store sells itself, and you set that standard. Ecommerce & social media. Our online shop is an extension of the floor. You'll keep it selling, market it on social, and keep it engaged, because that's where our customers are. You'd lead and develop a team of around 15, own the sales and buying goals, and steer the whole operation. It's a metrics-driven business, and you'd love a good goal. Who we are Clothes Mentor is a women's fashion resale boutique, and we're kind of obsessed with it. We buy gently loved, current-style pieces right from our community and resell them at around 70% off retail — Nordstrom-level service with the thrill of a treasure hunt. We're part of a national resale brand, so you'd get the systems and support of an established company with the scrappy, close-knit feel of a local store. Our floor is an intimate, women-helping-women kind of place: customers trust us in the fitting room, ask us to zip and button, and leave feeling like a million bucks. Our stores are run by warm, funny, big-hearted women who love our customers, and we're building a community hot spot where women take care of women. And yes, we have a lot of fun doing it. Now let's be real about the job It's a lot. You're accountable for the numbers, leading a team of 15, and running three lines of business at once. It's scrappy and fast-paced — you're driving the store, not watching it run itself. It's also hands-on and physical: on your feet most of your shift, working the floor, and lifting bins of inventory. It takes energy and some maturity, because it's a million-dollar business and you're the one steering it. And the schedule is real. When your 4:00 team member calls off, you're the one who makes sure the store's covered. If you need banker's hours, this isn't the one — but if you love owning your store from open to close, you'll thrive here. But if you love fashion, love people, and love a good challenge? It's honestly a blast. The must-haves Experience leading a team, a classroom, or a business, with a track record of results Comfort with sales goals, buying, and numbers An eye for fashion and trends Outstanding customer service and a warm, fun personality Full, flexible availability. Our store is open Monday-Saturday 9-8 and Sunday 11-6, and as the manager you're the one who opens, closes, and covers when a shift falls through. This is not a 9-to-3 job, and it's not for someone who needs a fixed schedule. A manageable commute to our Springfield store (785 West Sproul Road, near Empire Beauty School) What you'd get Starting salary from $45,000, based on experience Weekly and monthly performance bonuses (our best earn well above base) Flexible scheduling Employee purchase discount Clothing allowance Health, vision, and dental coverage available Ready? Apply and let's talk. We'd love to meet you.
