Job Summary The Assistant Starbucks Manager supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the licensed Starbucks department. This position helps drive sales, ensures exceptional customer service, maintains Starbucks brand standards, and supports the development of department associates. The Assistant Starbucks Manager plays a key role in creating a welcoming café environment while ensuring operational excellence and food safety compliance. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Starbucks department. Ensure all beverages and food items are prepared according to Starbucks recipes and quality standards. Maintain proper inventory levels of products, supplies, and ingredients. Support department merchandising, promotional programs, and seasonal product launches. Monitor department conditions to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness throughout the day. Customer Service Deliver outstanding customer service and create a positive customer experience. Build customer relationships through friendly, personalized interactions. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Foster an environment that reflects Starbucks' commitment to customer connection and service excellence. Food Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain Starbucks operational standards and company policies. Monitor proper product storage, handling, and preparation procedures. Support department readiness for inspections, audits, and operational reviews. Inventory & Financial Performance Assist with product ordering, receiving, and inventory control. Help manage labor, shrink, waste, and operating expenses. Support the achievement of department sales, profitability, and productivity goals. Monitor sales trends and assist in implementing action plans to improve performance. Leadership & Team Development Assist in training, coaching, and developing Starbucks associates. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture. Help coordinate daily work assignments and scheduling needs. Provide performance feedback and assist with associate development plans. Assume department leadership responsibilities when the Starbucks Manager is absent. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous coffee shop, food service, retail, or Starbucks experience preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to operate department equipment safely and effectively. Preferred Skills Customer-focused leadership.
