Position Summary The Assistant Store Director supports the Store Director in leading overall store operations, driving sales performance, maintaining operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role assists in managing store teams, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and service. The Assistant Store Director serves as a leader, coach, and business partner to department managers and associates. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Support the Store Director in leading and developing store management and associates. Recruit, hire, onboard, and train employees to meet operational needs. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to team members. Foster a culture of inclusion, engagement, accountability, and customer service. Assist with scheduling and workforce planning to ensure adequate store coverage. Customer Experience Promote a customer-first culture throughout the store. Resolve customer concerns and ensure timely, professional service recovery. Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements as needed. Ensure associates consistently deliver a welcoming and positive shopping experience. Store Operations Assist in directing daily store operations to achieve sales, profitability, and productivity goals. Ensure departments execute merchandising, pricing, signage, and promotional programs effectively. Monitor inventory levels and support shrink reduction initiatives. Ensure the store maintains company standards for cleanliness, appearance, and organization. Support opening, closing, and manager-on-duty responsibilities. Financial Performance Help achieve sales, labor, and profitability objectives. Analyze store reports and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Support expense management and labor productivity initiatives. Monitor department performance and collaborate with department managers to achieve business goals. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety regulations, and government requirements. Promote workplace safety and maintain a safe environment for associates and customers. Support loss prevention and asset protection programs. Ensure accurate completion of required operational and compliance documentation. Human Resources Support Assist with attendance management, performance documentation, and employee relations matters. Support implementation of company HR programs and initiatives. Promote associate engagement and retention efforts. Partner with Human Resources on staffing, development, and compliance matters.
