An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

Job Description
Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and achieving sales targetsLead, motivate, and train team members to maintain high performance standardsEnsure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive shopping environmentManage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and organizing merchandiseImplement and maintain visual merchandising standardsAssist in hiring, scheduling, and evaluating team membersEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulationsHandle cash management and financial reporting responsibilitiesIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutionsStep in for the Store Manager when necessaryQualificationsProven experience in retail or customer service, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory roleStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team membersExcellent customer service skills and a customer-focused mindsetEffective problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsProficient in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systemsAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 poundsRetail industry knowledge and experience with visual merchandising a plus
