For generations, the Snelgrove name became known for premium ice cream, memorable experiences, and bringing families and communities together. After reacquiring the Snelgrove trademark in 2019, our family proudly brought the brand back in 2021. Today, Snelgrove Ice Cream is growing again—and we are building a team of strong leaders who want to grow with us. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who enjoys working with people, takes pride in doing things the right way, and wants to play an important role in building a successful store. This is more than simply supervising a shift. You will help lead the team, develop employees, create great guest experiences, and support the overall success of the business. The Opportunity As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to help lead day-to-day store operations. You will be one of the key leaders employees look to during a shift. You will help set expectations, keep the team organized, solve problems, maintain high standards, and make sure customers receive the experience Snelgrove is known for. We are looking for someone who is willing to lead from the front. Our managers are hands-on and work alongside the team—especially during busy nights, weekends, and rush periods. For the right person, this position can also provide opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement as Snelgrove continues to grow. What You'll DoLead the Team Lead shifts and help organize team members throughout the day. Set a positive example through attitude, work ethic, professionalism, and dependability. Help train, coach, and develop employees. Give team members clear direction and help hold the team accountable to expectations. Help create a positive, respectful, hardworking, and team-focused culture. Support the General Manager with staffing, scheduling, training, and employee performance. Step in and help wherever needed during busy periods. Deliver an Exceptional Guest Experience Help ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, and memorable service. Create a welcoming and fun environment for customers and families. Professionally handle customer questions, feedback, or concerns. Coach employees on hospitality, speed of service, product presentation, and customer care. Look for opportunities to make the customer experience better. Run Strong Shifts Help oversee daily store operations and shift execution. Regularly lead evening shifts and store closings. Keep the store clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers. Make sure opening, closing, cleaning, preparation, and operational checklists are completed correctly. Maintain food safety and company standards. Help ensure products are prepared and served consistently according to Snelgrove standards. Assist with inventory, stocking, product preparation, and operational needs. Identify problems and take initiative to help solve them. Help Grow the Business Our Assistant Managers are not only responsible for running good shifts—they also help make the store better.
You may help with:
Improving sales and store performance. Controlling labor, waste, and operating costs. Supporting catering and large orders. Local marketing and community outreach. Store promotions and special events. Improving cleanliness, speed, organization, and efficiency. Helping the General Manager achieve store goals. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: 18 years of age or older. Dependable and punctual. Positive and professional. Comfortable leading and giving direction to others. Willing to work hard alongside the team. Organized and able to manage multiple priorities. Able to stay calm and make good decisions during busy periods. Passionate about customer service. Interested in learning, improving, and taking on additional responsibility. Comfortable using technology such as POS systems, scheduling software, email, and web-based programs. Previous experience as a Shift Lead, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Manager is preferred , but we also value strong leadership potential, dependability, and the right attitude. Availability Requirements This position is expected to average approximately 30 hours per week .
Candidates must be available for:
Evening shifts. Regular closing shifts. Weekend shifts. Approximately 30 hours per week. Daytime availability is helpful but not required. Because evenings and weekends are some of our busiest times, Assistant Managers must be comfortable regularly leading the store during those periods. Snelgrove Ice Cream is closed on Sundays. Physical Requirements Team members must be able to: Stand for extended periods. Bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks. Regularly scoop ice cream and perform food-service duties. Lift and carry up to approximately 40 pounds. Work in a fast-paced food-service environment. Additional Requirements Reliable transportation to your assigned Snelgrove Ice Cream store. Driver's license preferred. Must complete a background investigation. A job performance reference check may also be required.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$19.00 per hour This position is not tip eligible.
