This role focuses on executing high-impact marketing campaigns, increasing brand awareness, and maximizing membership sales, renewals, and revenue. Partnering closely with the Studio Manager, the Assistant Studio Manager also supports front-of-house operations to ensure an exceptional client experience that drives retention and studio traffic. While sales performance is the top priority, this role also plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence to support overall business success.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates a strong first impression by greeting all members and guests promptly and enthusiastically, setting the tone for a high-energy, service-focused studio experience that supports membership conversion and retention.
- Oversee all functions of the front desk, including but not limited to answering phones, greeting prospective and current clients, checking in classes, booking sessions for members and resolving any customer concerns.
- Drives membership growth by overseeing all sales processes, billing procedures, and Orangetheory Fitness systems with accuracy and efficiency.
- Develops and supports studio marketing strategies, including local events, outreach campaigns, and in-studio promotions, to attract new leads and build brand awareness.
- Actively manages and audits lead generation, and conversion through tools (Mindbody, Orangebook, etc.), ensuring timely follow-up through calls, texts, and emails.
- Owns and executes daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals while tracking performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth.
- Coordinates and participates in offsite marketing events to promote the studio and generate new member interest.
- Develops, promotes, and maintains a high-impact referral program to generate qualified leads and drive consistent membership growth through word-of-mouth marketing.
- Proactively conducts sales-driven follow-up and customer care calls to convert leads, re-engage past prospects, and strengthen member relationships.
- Explains the full concept of an OTF workout to new guests, called "Intros" and works hand in hand with the trainer to guide an Intro through their first OTF workout.
- Collaborates regularly with the Studio Manager, Head Coach, and Ownership team in sales meetings to share insights, report on KPIs, and refine strategies for continued success.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with the Studio Manager, Head Coach, sales associates, and coaches to streamline studio operations and enhance overall performance.
- Drives member retention through strategic follow-up campaigns, consistent engagement, and exceptional customer care.
- Uses management access within OTF systems to execute membership actions (freezes, terminations, upgrades/downgrades), process refunds, and generate key sales reports for monitoring and following up with missed guests
- Partners with the fitness team to ensure all operational and member-facing processes support the sales funnel and studio experience.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and brand-aligned studio environment by following daily checklist protocols.
- Actively participates in all OTF training programs to stay current on brand standards, sales techniques, and operational excellence.
- Recruits, trains, and leads front desk staff, ensuring they are equipped to support studio goals and deliver consistent member experience.
- Learns and supports studio leadership by shadowing the Studio Manager and serving as backup in their absence.
- Ensures adherence to all Orangetheory Fitness and MDMS employment policies, as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- 2 year of previous sales experience required
- Previous management experience in the health and fitness industry strongly recommended
- Ability to multi-task and manage client and staff concerns
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS office programs (Word and Excel)
- Ability to work in a TEAM environment
- Associates Degree required.
