Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and motivated Thrift Store Manager to lead our retail operations with enthusiasm and a customer-focused mindset. In this role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage a dynamic team, and ensure the smooth functioning of all store processes. Your leadership will drive sales, optimize donation inventory control, and foster a welcoming environment for customers and staff alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while developing your management skills in a fast-paced retail setting. Responsibilities Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and developing team members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency Oversee inventory management, including pricing, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering operations with accuracy and integrity Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed store targets while maintaining effective pricing and promotional activities Coordinate shift schedules, monitor store operations during shifts, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies, with oversight from the Operations Manager Conduct regular employee orientation sessions, performance evaluations, and training programs to foster team growth Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction Experience Proven management experience in retail or thrift store environments with a focus on supervising teams and managing daily operations Strong knowledge of retail math, sales management, merchandising, inventory control, and POS systems Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development, and leadership roles a plus Experience with cash handling procedures, and administrative tasks Prior experience in retail sales environments such as grocery or clothing stores is advantageous Skilled in marketing strategies to promote store initiatives and community engagement efforts Ability to manage time effectively across shift management duties while maintaining organizational skills for multiple responsibilities Join us as a Thrift Store Manager where your leadership will inspire a dedicated team while creating a vibrant shopping experience for our community.
