Job Description

A rapidly growing, mission-driven food service organization dedicated to nourishing students is seeking a dynamic Regional Area Manager to oversee food service operations across K-12 school accounts in and around Montpelier, VT . This role provides leadership, culinary support, and operational guidance to frontline teams while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Regional Area Manger Responsibilities:
Conduct daily site visits across assigned school accounts to oversee meal service, culinary execution, kitchen facilities, and customer engagement. Manage, mentor, and support Food Service Leads and staff, driving high performance, proper training, and team accountability. Ensure full compliance with food safety (HACCP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), USDA guidelines, and state child nutrition standards. Oversee point-of-service meal counting, accurate inventory control (FIFO), menu posting, and production record documentation to maintain audit readiness. Manage financial operations and unit P&L, driving efficiency and implementing action plans to optimize operational costs. Step in on-site to assist or fill roles during staff absences to ensure seamless daily meal operations. Build and maintain exceptional relationships with school administrators, clients, and partners to enhance community satisfaction.
Regional Area Manager Requirements:
3-5 years of multi-unit or high-volume supervisory experience in K-12 food service operations (e.g., Food Service Director or Regional Manager). Demonstrated experience with P&L management, operational budgeting, and financial acumen. Proven ability to support, direct, and step in for unit-level managers, chefs, and food service staff when needed. Deep understanding of food safety standards (HACCP) and compliance with K-12 nutrition programs. Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel daily between school locations across Vermont. Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal communication skills.
Compensation Package Details Base Salary:
$90,000 - $100,000 per year
Bonus:
Up to 20% annual performance bonus potential
