We are looking for a motivated and reliable Assistant Manager to join our team at Summit Stores/23 French King Highway. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, assist with managing staff, ensure exceptional customer service, and help maintain the store's profitability. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills who is eager to take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.Key Responsibilities:
Team Support and Supervision:
Assist in training, coaching, and motivating store staff to ensure high levels of performance and customer service. The main point of contact during shifts, providing guidance and support where needed. Assist the Store Manager with scheduling to ensure adequate coverage. Maintain a positive work environment.Customer Service:
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring all staff members follow customer service protocols. Support the Store Manager in creating a customer-friendly environment that encourages repeat business and loyalty. Assist customers with product selection, suggestive selling, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.Store Operations:
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, stocking shelves, and maintaining store organization. Monitor the cleanliness and upkeep of the store, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers and employees. Help manage inventory by assisting with stock replenishment, conducting inventory checks, and ensuring products are properly labeled.Sales and Performance:
Support the Store Manager in monitoring store sales performance, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to meet sales goals. Assist in driving store promotions and sales initiatives to attract customers and improve store revenue. Help track and analyze store performance and recommend improvementsCash Handling and Financial Management:
Assist in cash handling procedures, including register balancing, deposits, and ensuring proper cash flow. Help maintain financial records and ensure that store transactions are accurately recorded. Monitor and control operating expenses and inventory to support profitability.Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations, including health and safety guidelines. Assist in maintaining store safety and security by following operational protocols and addressing any issues as they arise. Support the Store Manager in enforcing company policies, including employee conduct, dress code, and other operational procedures.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in retail or customer service, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer issues calmly and professionally. Basic knowledge of cash handling, register operations, and inventory management. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in retail management or in the convenience store industry. Knowledge of POS systems and retail management software.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with stocking and organizing products. Comfortable with bending, reaching, and carrying merchandise.Job Type:
