Job Description

Our client, a Japanese logistics company is looking for an Assistant Sales. 【Location】Torrance, CA 【Position】 Assistant Sales 【Compensation】$20-27/h 【Hiring Style】Direct hiring, Fulltime, Onsite Role Overview Supervises operational and financial activities within the department while driving sales growth. The role manages the entire sales lifecycle—from lead generation and rate quotations to client onboarding and logistics consultation—while overseeing shipment execution and team compliance.
Primary Responsibilities Sales & Business Development:
Prospect new clients, conduct site visits, manage pricing/margins, run local marketing, and expand existing accounts.
Logistics Consultation & Compliance:
Advise clients on transport modes, dangerous goods, HTS codes, and trade/government agency regulations (e.g., Dept. of Commerce, POA/LOI).
Quoting & Shipment Coordination:
Gather vendor rates, prepare quotes, process bookings, coordinate with operations, and track status for clients.
Account Management & Customer Service:
Handle client inquiries, resolve operational complaints, enforce 60-day invoice collections, and monitor market/competitor trends.
Reporting & Administration:
Analyze costs, prepare sales/meeting reports, handle RFQs/RFPs, train Sales Coordinators, and collaborate with global overseas offices.
Qualifications:
Languages:
Basic English and Japanese (reading, writing, arithmetic).
Education:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
Leadership & Operations:
Team supervision experience and knowledge of office procedures and technology.
Financial & Core Skills:
Ability to read/interpret financial and accounting reports, plus excellent communication skills.
Licensing:
Valid state-issued Driver's License.
Pay:
$20.00 - $27.00 per hour
