AmeriCorps Position Description Store Support Specialist

Humanity of La Pine Sunriver ReStore Service Term:

  • September 30 (flexible start-end date for college students)
Location:
La Pine ReStore, La Pine, Oregon Position Summary The Store Support Specialist will serve at the ReStore, supporting daily retail operations that fund affordable housing efforts in South Deschutes County. This role focuses on merchandising, cashiering, donation processing, customer service, and inventory management. Primary Responsibilities Merchandising & Sales Floor
  • Organize and maintain attractive, safe, and well-stocked sales displays
  • Rotate inventory and refresh displays to maximize sales
  • Assist with pricing items based on store guidelines Cashiering & Customer Service
  • Operate point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
  • Provide friendly, welcoming service to all customers and donors
  • Answer questions and promote the mission of Habitat for Humanity Donation Processing
  • Receive, sort, and prepare donated items for the sales floor
  • Evaluate donations for quality and resale potential
  • Help maintain a clean and organized donation intake area Inventory & Operations Support
  • Assist with tracking inventory and moving items between departments
  • Support store organization, restocking, and overall cleanliness
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to meet sales goals Position Benefits (subject to change based on the start and end date of the position)
  • Total Hours:
    340-450 hours
  • Minimum Weekly Hours:
    22-29 hours/week
  • Total Stipend:
    $4,200
  • 5,250 ($1050
  • $1,312.50/month)
  • Education Award:
    $1,479
  • 1,848.75 Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work with diverse populations
AmeriCorp Program Requirements:
  • A U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
  • At least 17 years old at the start of service
  • Graduated from High School
  • Able to provide one of the following for identity verification: o U.
S. birth certificate o U.S. passport o Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
