Inside Sales Engineer- Cryogenics Montana Instruments Corporation United States, Montana, Bozeman 101 Evergreen Drive (Show on map) Aug 06, 2026 Your role The Inside Sales I position is responsible for assisting the global sales team in generating profitable revenue. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the product line (current and prior generations), components and features as they pertain to the industrial and academic research markets.
  • Working with the sales and service team, respond in a timely manner to incoming requests for quotations or technical inquiries related to potential sales globally.
  • Work closely with the sales manager and outside sales staff to provide price quotations and shipment lead times to sales staff, distributors, prospects and customers for both standard systems, custom systems, after-sales maintenance support, and components.
  • Ensure that quotes are accurate as to customer requirements and internal Montana Instruments part numbers.
  • Work with custom engineering and customer service departments, as needed, to drive sales and support existing customers while minimizing change orders.
  • Support sales administrative staff in the processing of incoming orders.
  • Cross-training with sales administrative staff to assist each other when one of the team members is out or when one of the team members is exceptionally busy.
  • Occasionally attend relevant workshops, conferences, and trade shows, stay abreast of industry trends, continuously improve technical knowledge, and maintain company market visibility.
  • Maintain data on customers, opportunities, and prospects on all digital platforms, including frequent updating of Salesforce.
  • Work with the sales and service team to meet or exceed global order bookings targets.
  • Be the lead salesperson on A-Jobs and maintenance orders, such as Cold Head Hot Swaps (CHHS). To succeed, you will need Minimum Qualifications (Experience / Education)
  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in customer-facing roles (preferably sales or business development for technical products). Competencies // Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Able to act as an ambassador for Montana Instruments' product vision to both the internal team and to the external customers.
  • Ability to communicate internally with all departments to ensure accurate quoting.
  • Team player who can work closely and communicate frequently with the global sales team.
  • Work internally with Service, Engineering, Production, and Finance as the Voice of the Customer to effectively communicate the market's technical and commercial requirements.
  • Communicate with international distributors for quote generation and help address their technical questions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in demanding situations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Epicor.
  • Thorough knowledge of MI products and their individual component parts.
