About the OpportunityA well-established US manufacturer and integrator of automation systems is seeking a Sales Engineer to join its team. This organization designs and delivers custom automation solutions including robotic cells, conveyor systems, packaging equipment, labeling machines, and fully integrated production lines. The culture is collaborative, engineering-driven, and focused on long-term customer relationships.

Position OverviewThe Sales Engineer will take a technical and consultative approach to selling engineered automation solutions. This role requires the ability to understand industrial machinery, assess customer needs, and recommend the right equipment or system configuration. Travel to customer facilities, both local and out of state, is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesSell automation equipment such as robotics, conveyors, packaging machines, labeling systems, and custom engineered solutions.

Visit customer sites to evaluate needs, gather application details, and identify automation opportunities.

Develop proposals, layouts, quotes, and ROI justifications.

Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams during concept development.

Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through project handoff.

Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple manufacturing industries.

Represent the full range of the organization's design, fabrication, and integration capabilities.

Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in the automation industry (machinery, robotics, packaging, conveyors, labeling, etc.).Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.

Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to customers.

Experience selling capital equipment or engineered-to-order systems preferred.

Excellent communication, problem solving, and presentation skills.

Willingness to travel regionally and nationally.
CompensationBase Salary:
80,000 to 95,000 depending on experience.
Commission:
Percentage-of-profit model that rewards high-margin and high-value sales.
OTE:
100,000 to 120,000+ based on typical job profitability.
