Job Description

Pump Systems Sales Engineer Company:
JW Kerns, Inc.
Type:
Full-time, Salary (DOE) Role Summary We're hiring a customer-facing Pump Systems Sales Engineer to own the technical side of selling and supporting pump systems: discovery, design/specification, quoting, and controls/VFD support. This role is high-technical and high-relational. What You'll Do

  • Design/specify pump systems: size pumps and system components, estimate costs, and document assumptions.
  • Specify, program, and troubleshoot VFDs supporting pump applications.
  • Build quotes and bills of material (BOMs); coordinate purchasing of equipment and parts for projects.
  • Maintain clean project files/records and strong handoffs to operations.
  • Maintain professionalism, safety, organization, and continuous learning. What We're Looking For
  • Strong customer communication and follow-through (you can explain "why" clearly).
  • Technical aptitude and attention to detail (specs, parts, documentation).
  • Comfort with system loss/head concepts and sizing pumps/piping (or the ability to learn fast).
  • VFD competence (spec/program/troubleshoot) or strong controls aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license; reliable and punctual. Preferred (Not Required)
  • Irrigation / deep well turbine / ag experience.
  • Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
We're Open to Strong Adjacent Backgrounds If you're an application engineer or technical seller from industrial fluids, municipal water, HVAC/plumbing, or controls, we're open to that background - we'll train you on the ag-specific pieces.
