They value the support that the company provides throughout the entire project from quote to shipment and after delivery. The Sales Engineer must be able to fulfill this customer promise. The Sales Engineer is responsible for consultative technical sales of the company's thermoforming, manufacturing, and engineering services. They are expected to be technical experts, manage specific customer accounts, grow sales through outreach efforts and to continue developing their technical knowledge of the company's products and services. The Sales Engineer reports directly to the VP Sales & Marketing and is a key member of the company. Their day to day duties include creating sales quotations, closing and executing sales orders, answering customer questions, developing key accounts, developing sales and supporting the customer facing aspects of the order execution. This is a performance based compensation role where the right individual will command a 6-figure salary comprising base pay plus commissions. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise Work with customers to understand their project needs, critical success factors, application requirements, key features, quality, delivery and timing. Consult with the customer to provide technical expertise in thermoforming, machining, assembly and engineering approach. Advise the customer on all aspects of design for manufacture. Through discussion and understanding determine the best technical and commercial solution to meet the customer needs Become the customers trusted advisor and consultant who they call first to solve their next project need Sales Planning & Quotation Review customer quote requests and create sales quotations. Follow up on technical and commercial questions to determine scope, prepare and issue quotations using company systems, monitor and maintain quote pipeline. Follow-up with customers on existing quotations and convert quotations to sales orders. Work with customers to answer clarifying questions, provide alternatives and modify scope as required through to sales order close. Account Management & Growth Build relationships with customers, manage and grow specific key customer accounts. Understand and sell the unique customer value proposition of RapidMade Grow sales through direct sales outreach efforts as required. Customer & Engineering Support Provide technical support for specific technologies offered by the company during the sales process. Support on-line sales tools and answer customer chat questions. Data Systems & Operational Support Maintain all aspects of the RFQ and Sales follow up process in the company data systems using Ragic. Execute customer service and sales order management activities as required. Communication & Professionalism Maintain organized communication between sales, engineering, and operations. Follow and adhere to company procedures, processes, and operating systems. Always act in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner with all customers, co-workers, and vendors. Main Job Duties/ Skills Be the customer technical expert for thermoforming, machining, manufacturing and engineering services Review customer quote requests and create sales quotations Follow-up with customers on existing quotations and convert to sales orders Build relationships and manage specific key customer accounts Provide technical support during the sales process Grow sales through direct outreach efforts Maintain RFQ and sales follow-up processes in Ragic Maintain organized communication between sales, engineering, and operations Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in relevant technical or engineering field or associate technical or engineering degree with relevant experience. 2-4 years of technical manufacturing services sales and account management experience Working knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes in one of the following fields; thermoforming, machining, injection molding or industrial 3D printing. Experience selling bundled manufacturing and engineering services Ability to adapt to changing customer requirements and operate in a fast-paced environment. Good communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities are necessary. Proficiency with Microsoft or Google Office software, Ragic, Apollo, ( or Hubspot and SFA), CAD software. Preferred Qualifications Must be a self-starter who is inquisitive about customers' challenges, motivated by closing sales, and is a continuous learner. Experience with custom manufacturing services project sales using a broad toolkit to find solutions. Experience closing B2B manufacturing services sales using consultative technical sales techniques.
