Sales Job Summary This is a sales focused position. Sales Engineer is the standard industry title for this role and does not require an engineering degree or prior technical background. Reporting to the Territory Manager and District Manager, the Sales Engineer is responsible for growing Imperial Systems Inc. dust collection systems business by maintaining current customer relationships and winning new accounts throughout the assigned territory. Imperial Systems Inc.provides full, hands on training in system design, equipment sizing, and the codes and standards that apply to this industry, so the most important thing a candidate brings is proven sales ability, not an engineering background. Training and Development No prior engineering experience is required for this role. Once hired, the Sales Engineer will receive structured, on the job training covering dust collection system design, ductwork layout, equipment sizing, and applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, OSHA, and Industrial Ventilation. Candidates should come with strong sales skills and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Sales and Business Development Partner with the Territory Manager to maintain and strengthen relationships with current customers through calls, emails, site visits, and trade shows Partner with the Territory Manager to identify and pursue new business, growing sales within the assigned territory Support the District Manager with territory sales activity, pipeline updates, and forecasting Represent the company at industry trade shows and customer events Technical and Engineering Support (training provided) Design ductwork and dust collection system layouts based on each customer's application and facility requirements Perform equipment sizing and select the proper system configuration for the customer's process Conduct site visits to gather jobsite specific information, including dimensions, process conditions, and existing infrastructure Read and interpret mechanical and architectural drawings Research and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA combustible dust standards, OSHA workplace safety requirements, and ACGIH industrial ventilation guidelines Distributor and Dealer Support Train and support independent sales reps and dealers throughout the assigned territory Join reps and dealers on customer calls and site visits as the technical subject matter expert Provide presale technical guidance that helps reps and dealers move opportunities toward close Project Fulfillment Work with vendors to evaluate and source the best buyout item options for cost, quality, and lead time Coordinate with production, engineering, and shipping teams to support accurate, on time order fulfillment Serve as the customer's point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, answering questions and resolving issues as they arise Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or relevant sales experience Proven track record in sales, including prospecting for new business and growing existing accounts Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver a sales presentation to a large group or in a one on one setting Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory for customer visits, site assessments, and trade shows Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Ability to interact comfortably and professionally with a wide range of people, including in fast paced or high pressure situations Coachable and eager to learn the technical side of the business through company provided training Preferred Qualifications Industrial equipment sales experience Ability to read mechanical or architectural drawings Familiarity with NFPA, OSHA, or ACGIH standards related to industrial ventilation or combustible dust Experience working alongside independent sales reps or a dealer network Work Environment and Physical Requirements Primarily office based, with regular travel throughout the assigned territory to customer facilities, jobsites, and trade shows Site visits may involve walking, climbing, and working in industrial or manufacturing environments; appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided Occasionally required to lift, carry, or move equipment, samples, or materials Growth Opportunity This role offers a clear path for a motivated salesperson to build technical expertise through hands on training, expand territory ownership, and grow into roles of greater responsibility within the sales organization.Job Type:
