$70,000-$80,000or commensurate on experience Job Summary Autotec is seeking an AMR Solutions Sales Engineer to support the development, estimating, and proposal process for automated mobile robot solutions. This position works closely with Account Managers, customers, distributors, AMR partners, and suppliers to turn customer requirements into complete, practical, and commercially competitive AMR solutions. The Sales Engineer will lead technical discovery meetings, help define the application, conduct site assessments, develop preliminary layouts, coordinate technical details, obtain partner and supplier pricing, prepare estimates and margin recommendations, and produce customer-facing proposals. The role will remain involved throughout the sales process, including technical clarification, revisions, opportunity follow-up, and solution development through award. After an order is awarded, the Sales Engineer will complete a clear and organized handoff to project management. Responsibilities- Work with Account Managers to gather and clarify customer requirements
- Lead technical discovery meetings with customers, Account Managers, distributors, and AMR partners
- Conduct customer-site visits to observe material flows, equipment, operational limitations, traffic patterns, and facility conditions
- Create site-visit summaries documenting photos, measurements, open questions, action items, owners, and due dates
- Review specifications, layouts, processes, and operational needs
- Develop preliminary AMR layouts, concepts, and application approaches
- Collaborate with AMR partners and suppliers to finalize solutions, pricing, and lead times
- Prepare estimates, pricing, margin recommendations, and customer quotes
- Develop proposals, assumptions, solution descriptions, and presentation materials
- Support customer presentations and technical discussions
- Manage revisions, scope changes, and proposal updates through award
- Track open proposals and assist with customer follow-up
- Maintain quoting tools and complete the handoff to project management after award Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering strongly preferred
- Two to five years of experience in AMR systems, industrial automation, material handling, applications engineering, estimating, or a related technical field preferred
- Entry-level candidates may be considered with direct AMR or closely related automation experience
- AMR experience preferred; broader industrial automation or material-handling experience will be considered
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop practical technical solutions
- Experience with estimating, quoting, pricing, or proposal development preferred
- Comfort leading technical discussions and customer discovery activities
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, Account Managers, distributors, suppliers, engineering, and project management
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple opportunities, priorities, and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with CAD, CRM, estimating, or quoting software preferred
- Willing and able to travel up to 40% Work Arrangement This position may be based at Autotec's Toledo location or its satellite office in Columbus. The role offers a flexible work arrangement, with regular office collaboration and remote work as appropriate.
