Job Description

Tri-Tronics Co., a leader in photoelectric and industrial sensor technology , is seeking a Sales Engineer / Account Executive to grow our Industrial Sensor Division. We are hiring Sales Engineers based in the Southeast region currently . Job Summary This role includes managing an existing book of business while developing new relationships with OEMs, integrators, and distributors. With over 71 years of success , we know that strong relationships take time — and new accounts may require a 3 to 18 -month sales cycle to fully develop. We're looking for someone who truly understands the automation community and how the right sensing technology drives customer success. You should have a deep understanding of photoelectronic applications in the Industrial Automation Space — including detection, inspection, and measurement — and be familiar with key accounts in your region. As a Tri-Tronics Sales Engineer, you'll also have a seat at the table with our engineering and product development teams by helping shape the next generation of sensor technology based on direct feedback from the field. What you'll do Manage and grow a defined regional territory of OEMs, system integrators, and channel partners Build strong relationships at all levels within customer organizations Identify, qualify, and close sensor solution opportunities with End Users, Key Partners, and OEMs Conduct on-site visits, technical demos, and product training Collaborate with the Application Engineering Team for product evaluations and custom solutions Attend trade shows, conferences, and marketing events to showcase Tri-Tronics technology Accurately forecast, track, and manage opportunities in Salesforce CRM Partner with teammates across territories to coordinate multi-region projects Work closely with distributors in your territory to help grow their business Train and inform key partners on new product launches and updates Actively follow up on leads, coordinate with distributors when appropriate, and deliver value through a solution-based sales approach Represent Tri-Tronics' core values of innovation, reliability, and service to the automation community Participate in weekly virtual sales training sessions to sharpen your skills and stay aligned with best practices. Basic qualifications 5+ years of technical or industrial automation sales experience with photoelectric, ultrasonic, or laser sensors Proven track record in solution-based selling with measurable sales performance Technical degree (Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience highly preferred) Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Experience collaborating cross-functionally to keep projects moving forward. Ability to work independently and travel up to 40-50% as required Preferred qualifications Strong understanding of the automation ecosystem — OEMs, integrators, and distributors Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) Why you'll love it here For over 70 years , Tri-Tronics has been a trusted name in American-made photoelectric sensors , proudly serving industries from packaging and printing to material handling and factory automation.
