Position Overview
We are seeking a Sales Engineer with specialized expertise in centrifugal chillers and complex cooling systems. This role serves as the critical technical bridge between our customers, sales channels, and internal engineering teams. You will partner with consulting engineers, contractors, and end-users to evaluate technical requirements, design custom cooling solutions, and guide technical discussions throughout the sales cycle.
The ideal candidate blends deep technical chiller knowledge with strong customer-facing communication to build trust, solve complex thermal challenges, and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Development:
Evaluate customer facilities, technical requirements, and system constraints to architect tailored chiller and cooling system solutions.
Technical Sales Support:
Lead technical presentations, answer complex design queries, and support the sales team throughout the entire sales lifecycle.
Engineering Intermediary:
Translate customer specifications into actionable requirements for internal engineering teams, ensuring product design aligns with field needs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with key external partners, including consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and facility managers/end-users.
Product Expertise:
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on centrifugal chillers, system integration, energy efficiency, and operational performance.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
1. Centrifugal Chiller & Systems Expertise
Deep functional knowledge of centrifugal chillers, hydronic systems, and commercial/industrial cooling plant design.
Proven track record of diagnosing and solving complex cooling and thermal management challenges.
Note:
Specialized, hands-on experience with chillers is required; general HVAC experience alone will not be considered.
2. Technical Sales & Consultation Experience
Demonstrated experience guiding clients through technical evaluations and solution development.
Ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical (engineers) and non-technical (business leaders) audiences.
Strong commercial acumen paired with technical credibility to build trust during the sales process.
3. Cross-Functional Communication & Relationship Building
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder relationships across consulting engineers, contractors, and internal cross-functional teams.
Strong project coordination capabilities to keep technical sales cycles moving forward efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in technical application engineering, direct equipment sales, or cooling systems design.
Familiarity with energy modeling, equipment selection software, and relevant HVAC industry standards.
