This position is also responsible for advising and mentoring the sales team when needed, and will continuously evaluate and adapt sales workflows, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of deliverables by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in guidance and mentoring the sales team to execute the quarterly and annual sales department strategy and budget. Leads and implements initiatives defined in the sales department strategy. Provides coaching and timely relevant feedback to assist the sales team in better serving their customers.
JOB DUTIES
Assists in mentoring the sales team including but not limited to, offering, and recommending appropriate training and regular evaluations. Oversees the customer/opportunity qualification and proposal processes, ensuring a strategic approach to sales and includes identification of risks and associated mitigation plans. Reviews and approves proposal estimates, primarily focused on setting the price and margin. Maintains a 12-month sales plan and updates quarterly. Embodies company culture and maintain high sales employee engagement. Establishes, implements, and continually improves sales department procedures and reports. Assures compliance with established policies and procedures within the department. Confers with the marketing department to identify marketing opportunities and participates in various marketing events. Maintains vendor relationships and participates in vendor business planning meetings. Recommends creative ideas that improve the company's competitive position and the bottom line. Participates in sales calls and customer meetings, as needed. Participates in technical and sales training. Meets established department sales targets, including but not limited to bookings, revenue and margin. Ensures prompt customer service and complete customer satisfaction. Periodically travels to meet with sales engineers and clients across various geographical areas. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. Respectfully takes direction from manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility. Supports the Sales and Marketing Director with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Provides feedback to the Sales and Marketing Director related performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in coordination.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Sales, Management, or a related field; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A
valid insurable Driver's License is required.
