Design Sales Consultant

Job Overview As a Design Sales Consultant, you will deliver an elevated client experience by guiding customers through curated selections of high-end furnishings, lighting, and interior solutions. Acting as a trusted design partner, you will provide expertise in space planning, layout design, and renovation concepts while building meaningful client relationships. This role blends sales excellence with design insight to create personalized solutions that transform spaces and reflect each client's unique vision. Duties Build and maintain strong client relationships through showroom consultations, outbound business development, and exceptional customer service. Guide clients in the selection of high-end furnishings, lighting, interior finishes, and renovation solutions based on project goals, style preferences, and budget. Conduct consultations to understand client needs and provide tailored recommendations for space planning, layout design, and interior solutions. Present products and design concepts while educating clients on features, functionality, materials, and customization options. Manage client accounts by maintaining accurate records, tracking project details, following up on leads, and fostering long-term relationships. Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to support project execution and ensure a seamless customer experience. Assist with showroom merchandising, product displays, inventory organization, and maintaining an elevated retail environment. Process sales transactions and support daily showroom operations, including order management and POS functions. Support promotional initiatives and collaborate on marketing efforts to increase brand awareness, product visibility, and client engagement. Qualifications Previous experience in luxury retail sales, furniture sales, interior design, lighting, renovation, construction, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, furnishings, lighting, and material selection. Ability to build trust, manage client relationships, and confidently guide customers through high-value purchasing decisions. Knowledge of renovation, remodeling, or construction processes is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, client-focused approach. Basic math and budgeting skills related to pricing, measurements, estimates, and sales calculations.
