Position Purpose:
Responsible for representing the company in the assigned area of responsibility or with the accounts assigned. Have an aggressive prospect plan consistently report to the Sr. VP of Truck Sales. Responsible for the sales and marketing of both new and used trucks in assigned areas of responsibility. This role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, relationship-building, and achieving sales targets. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Build, develop, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, becoming their trusted advisor for transportation solutions. Identify and qualify sales opportunities through strategic prospecting, referrals, and direct marketing initiatives. Conduct in-depth consultations to understand customers' needs and recommend the most suitable truck models and configurations. Deliver engaging product demonstrations and provide detailed explanations of features, benefits, and technical specifications. Present competitive proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales to achieve or exceed established sales targets. Partner with the finance department to ensure smooth transaction processes, including credit approvals and contract finalizations. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge. Attend trade shows, networking events, and training sessions to continually enhance product knowledge and sales techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed records of sales activities, pipeline opportunities, and customer interactions using CRM tools. Provide ongoing customer support to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and foster repeat business. Other Duties and Responsibilities Must be regular and predictable in attendance. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers and supervisors. Must uphold company policies, including anti-harassment program. Must have the ability to consistently meet production and time deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Proven track record in sales, with experience in the trucking or heavy equipment industry strongly preferred. Strong understanding of truck features, specifications, and applications, or a willingness to learn quickly. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach to sales. A passion for building lasting customer relationships and delivering tailored solutions. Self-driven and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to achieve results. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Proficient in using CRM systems and other sales-related tools. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. You must obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 180 days of employment. Skills Must have strong interpersonal communication skills. Must have a high degree of professionalism. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material. Ability to communicate with various levels of management. Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills. Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
