Job Description

Springdale Advertising & Promotion Commission Reports to :
President, Springdale Chamber of Commerce Status :
Full-Time, Exempt (Salaried - compensation commensurate with experience) Position Overview The Group Sales Specialist will lead a new initiative to increase hotel occupancy and visitor spending in Springdale by actively identifying, soliciting, and securing group business from corporate, association, sports, and leisure markets. Funded by the Springdale Advertising & Promotion Commission and housed within the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, this position will play a central role in developing relationships with hotels, event venues, and community partners to bring more overnight visitors to the city. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive group sales strategy to increase hotel room nights and attract multi-day events to Springdale. Actively solicit and recruit group bookings from businesses, associations, sports tournaments, reunions, and other potential markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel sales teams, event planners, sports organizations, and tourism industry partners to promote Springdale as a preferred group destination. Represent Springdale at industry trade shows, conferences, and marketplaces , and conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations as appropriate. Collaborate with Springdale A&P Commission and Chamber of Commerce staff to align group sales efforts with overall tourism marketing and community promotion strategies. Prepare and present regular activity and performance reports to the A&P Commission and Chamber leadership. Assist event organizers and group leaders with site selection, venue coordination, and lodging arrangements to ensure successful events that encourage repeat visits. Coordinate cooperative promotions or incentive programs in partnership with local hotels and other tourism partners. Maintain an accurate database of prospects, bookings, and outcomes using CRM or other tracking systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hotel sales, destination marketing organization (DMO/CVB) sales, or a related tourism or event-based role. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close group sales that result in measurable hotel bookings. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of the Northwest Arkansas tourism and hospitality market preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM software or sales-tracking tools a plus. Ability to travel occasionally and work evenings or weekends for trade shows and events.
