At times, the Sales Coordinator may be called upon to take on selling duties for small groups and functions. The ideal candidate for this role has a passion for building relationships and providing amazing communication and experience to our sales leaders and clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work independently and with a team on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects Input all group room blocks and events into MARSHA Monitor group pick-up and cutoff date and ensure that group blocks are up to date in CI Produce and distribute group resumes for "rooms only" groups Process Marriott Bonvoy Event points, Group Commissions and rebates Process and follow-up on all VIP guestroom reservations to include site inspections Organizes and maintains file system and correspondences. Greet scheduled visitors and make the introduction to meet with the appropriate person. Assemble all sales and marketing packets and maintain inventory of all collateral. Ensure that all collateral is kept up to date and distributed all necessary individuals. Process and follow-up on all amenity and special request orders. Take inquiry calls, gather qualifying information and distribute leads appropriately. To ensure that all leads are traced and filed for follow-up. Check space availability as necessary. Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by Director of Sales & Marketing. What are we looking for? Present a crisp and polished appearance that is reflective of Marriott brand standards Delivering positive and upbeat energy that can deliver total guest satisfaction Utilize self-discipline, critical thinking skills, and the ability to self-direct Exercise superb attention to detail Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to compose, proofread, spell check and edit correspondence Adherent to high quality standards in all written and oral communications Marriott experience in Sales, Catering, or Events (strongly preferred) Familiarity with MARSHA, CI/TY, or other Marriott systems 1-2 years of prior hotel experience Knowledge of hotel operations, including security and safety programs Ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing detail Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines Required education and experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Competency Must speak and communicate in English, Spanish speaking abilities are a PLUS Must be able to clearly communicate with guests, management and coworkers. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible and reliable. Ability to remain calm while under pressure Ability to work cohesively as part of a team. Work environment Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twist, or lifting as much as 20lbs. throughout your scheduled shift.
