Marketing & Business Development Coordinator Financial Services Agency Position:
Full-Time Reports To:
Agency Owner / Managing Director About the Role We are a growing financial services agency seeking a motivated, organized, and results-oriented Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to help expand our local presence, strengthen our digital marketing, and generate new client opportunities. This is a hands-on role combining digital marketing, local business development, event marketing, referral development, and community outreach . The ideal candidate is not simply a social media content creator. We are looking for someone who understands that marketing should produce measurable business results: increased visibility, qualified leads, referral relationships, appointments, and ultimately new clients. Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Marketing & Lead Generation Manage and continuously improve our digital presence and lead-generation efforts, including: Coordinate website updates and improve local SEO and search visibility. Help optimize website pages, landing pages, calls-to-action, and lead-capture forms. Manage or coordinate Google Ads campaigns, including keyword strategy, budgets, conversion tracking, and campaign optimization. Manage Yelp advertising and business profile presence where appropriate. Monitor Google Business Profile and other relevant local listings. Track website traffic, inquiries, conversions, cost per lead, and other key marketing metrics. Work with outside vendors, designers, web developers, or advertising partners when needed. Social Media & Content Marketing Develop and execute a consistent social media and content strategy that strengthens our brand and creates opportunities for new business.
Responsibilities include:
Plan and maintain a monthly social media/content calendar. Create and coordinate educational and promotional content. Develop posts, short-form videos, graphics, client-focused campaigns, and event promotions. Manage appropriate social platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and others based on our target audience. Coordinate email campaigns and newsletters. Repurpose financial education and agency content across multiple channels. Track engagement and, more importantly, leads and appointments generated from campaigns. All marketing materials must follow applicable company, regulatory, advertising, and compliance requirements for the financial services industry. Referral & Center-of-Influence Marketing Help build a structured referral and relationship-development program.
The coordinator will:
Develop campaigns that encourage appropriate client introductions and referrals. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential Centers of Influence (COIs) such as CPAs, attorneys, real estate professionals, mortgage professionals, business owners, HR professionals, and other community partners. Coordinate outreach and follow-up with referral partners. Help organize educational events, networking opportunities, workshops, and joint marketing activities. Maintain a database or CRM pipeline of referral partners, prospects, event attendees, and follow-up opportunities. Track referral sources and measure which relationships and activities generate business. Events & Community Marketing Plan and execute in-person marketing activities designed to increase our visibility and create qualified business opportunities.
Activities may include:
Client appreciation and referral events Educational seminars and workshops Community events Business networking events Chamber of Commerce and professional association events COI networking events Local sponsorships Employer and small-business outreach Financial education presentations Responsibilities include identifying opportunities, coordinating logistics, promoting events, managing registrations, attending events when appropriate, capturing prospect information, and ensuring timely follow-up after each event. Performance Expectations Success in this position will be measured by business outcomes, not simply marketing activity.
Key performance indicators may include:
Qualified leads generated New prospect appointments generated Cost per lead and cost per appointment Website organic traffic and local search visibility Google Ads conversion performance Event registrations and attendance Leads and appointments generated from events Client referrals generated Number of active COI/referral relationships Opportunities generated through COIs Social and email campaign conversions Marketing-influenced new client acquisition The coordinator will maintain a simple monthly marketing dashboard showing activities, spending, leads, appointments, referral sources, and results. QualificationsRequired 2+ years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, business development, community outreach, or a related role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing multiple marketing projects and deadlines. Working knowledge of social media marketing and content creation. Understanding of basic SEO and local search marketing. Comfortable using CRM, email marketing, analytics, and digital marketing tools. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Comfortable attending networking events and interacting professionally with clients, prospects, and community partners. Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects. Strong attention to detail and willingness to work within financial-services compliance requirements. Preferred Experience with Google Ads and Google Analytics. Experience with Google Business Profile and local SEO. Experience with Yelp Ads or other local advertising platforms. Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms. Experience creating landing pages, email campaigns, social media content, and basic graphics. Experience planning seminars, networking events, client events, or community outreach programs. Experience developing referral or strategic partnership programs. Previous experience in financial services, insurance, wealth management, banking, mortgage, accounting, legal services, or another professional-services industry. What Success Looks Like Within the first 90-180 days, the successful candidate will have established a consistent marketing calendar, improved our digital and local presence, implemented measurable lead tracking, developed an active pipeline of referral and COI relationships, and created a repeatable schedule of campaigns and events that contribute to qualified prospect appointments and new business.
