OPPORTUNITY
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and strategic professional to join the team as a Compost Sales Representative, supporting the Inland Empire Regional Composting Authority's sales and marketing efforts for compost and organics recycling products. Reporting to the Manager of the Inland Empire Regional Composting Authority, this position plays a key role in expanding market opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the Agency's commitment to sustainable resource recovery and environmental stewardship. In this dynamic position, you will lead a variety of sales, marketing, and business development activities focused on increasing product movement, generating revenue, and growing market share for compost and related organics materials. Responsibilities include developing and managing customer accounts, conducting sales negotiations, preparing quotes and contracts, coordinating delivery logistics, and supporting invoicing and collections activities. The successful candidate will also promote products through trade shows, conferences, presentations, and outreach efforts while helping develop and implement marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent At least five years of progressively responsible experience in sales and marketing, preferably in agricultural products Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, marketing, advertising or a closely related field is desired

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program. Weigh Master Certificate is required within three months of appointment. Skills and Abilities Builds and maintains positive working relationships with municipalities, contractors, landscapers, agricultural customers, vendors, and internal staff, fostering collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships that support continued growth of compost and organics recycling programs. Demonstrates a self-motivated and proactive approach to sales and customer engagement by identifying new business opportunities, following up consistently with customers, and taking initiative to support operational and revenue goals with minimal supervision. Applies knowledge of compost products, soil health, organics recycling, landscaping, and agricultural practices to effectively educate customers, recommend product solutions, and support sustainable resource recovery efforts. Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, delivering presentations, explaining product specifications and pricing, and promoting the environmental and sustainability benefits of compost and organics recycling programs. Utilizes strong organizational and customer service skills to coordinate orders and deliveries, manage customer accounts, track sales activities, and respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns. Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability when addressing logistical challenges, changing market demands, seasonal fluctuations, and customer needs while maintaining a positive and solutions-oriented mindset. About Us The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. SELECTION PROCESS

Salary Range:
PR 181 FLSA
Exempt Probationary Period:
