Job Description

Door-to-Door Sales Representative Summit Exterior Solutions Roseville, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $50,000
  • $100,000 a year 8 hours ago Benefits Paid training Flexible schedule Qualifications Outbound sales Outdoor work experience Driver's License Math Driving Door-to-door Mobile devices Solar sales Full Job Description Commission-based, no cap. You knock doors in neighborhoods of $1M
  • 2M+ homes and book free property assessments. The owner quotes and closes. You start at 10% of everything Summit collects from the customers you bring in
  • and the rate goes up as your production does. What one door can be worth: a roof soft wash plus 49 solar panels on a Granite Bay home brought in $2,925
  • that is $292 to the rep at 10%. A $300 walkway knock turned into a $9,100 whole-property project
  • roughly $910.
Those are real Summit jobs. We do not have a sales rep yet, so we will not invent an average-rep-earns number. The math is above; the neighborhoods are below. Minimum 6 months of genuine door-to-door sales experience. Valid driver's license and your own reliable vehicle.
WHAT YOU WOULD BE SELLING
Exterior cleaning and restoration for high-value homes: roof soft washing, house washing, solar panel cleaning, window cleaning, gutters, driveway and patio cleaning, concrete sealing and recoloring, fence and deck cleaning, plus ongoing maintenance plans. Premium work, premium pricing, one company for the whole exterior. This is an easy product to open a conversation on, because the need is visible from the street. Black streaks on a north-facing roof. Green on the driveway. Pollen on the solar array. Stained stucco. You are not selling an abstract product
  • you are pointing at something the homeowner walks past every day.
Most homes we quote have three to five things that need doing. The residential minimum is $450 per visit and whole-property projects run well into the thousands.
WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY IS
Door knocking, consistently. We are not going to dress that up. You work neighborhoods in Granite Bay, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Folsom and the rest of Placer County
  • established estates with heavy buildup and new-construction tracts where construction dust keeps everything dirty.
You start conversations, point out what you noticed on the property, ask questions, and book a free written property assessment. The owner walks the property, writes the assessment, and quotes and closes the job. You are paid on the full job that comes out of that assessment, including every add-on service the customer says yes to. You track every door and every lead in SalesRabbit, and you follow up on your own pipeline. Prime hours are weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturdays. Roughly 30-40 hours a week; Sundays off. You do not quote prices, and you do not need to. Every quote at Summit comes from the owner so the number is right
  • which means you never have to defend a guess.
WHO THIS IS FOR
6+ months of real door-to-door sales
  • roofing, solar, pest control, home improvement, windows, security, internet, lawn care, exterior services, or similar.
Cold knocking where you were responsible for leads, appointments, or sales. Delivery routes, technician visits, retail, and call-center work do not count. Going to people's doors is not the same as selling at them. You keep knocking when the first two hours went badly and nobody is watching. You take feedback, change your approach, and try again the same day. You notice things
  • roof growth, a big driveway, a solar array, a pool deck
  • and you learn to read a property before you ring the bell.
You talk like a person, not a script. You listen and ask questions. You are honest at the door. We build a premium reputation one property at a time, and we would rather lose a sale than have you invent damage, fake urgency, or promise something we cannot deliver. Preferred, not required: roofing, solar, or exterior-services background.
Not required at all:
exterior cleaning experience. We teach the service.
WHY SUMMIT
Ticket size. Compare our jobs to selling $150 gutter cleanings or $30/month internet. Multiple services per property
  • one conversation, several lines, with repeat and maintenance work on top.
The territory:
some of the most valuable residential property in Northern California, and much of it visibly needs the work. Direct access to the owner
  • you work with the person who founded the company, quotes the jobs, and trains you, so feedback is same-day, not quarterly.
And you would be the first: Summit has a three-person crew and an owner who has done all of the selling himself. You are the first dedicated salesperson, and whoever proves this out shapes how the sales side gets built. Paid on collected revenue, no cap, no clawback games. Commission is paid when the customer pays. And 10% is where you start, not where you top out
  • proven producers earn their way to higher commission rates based on what they actually bring in.
Production, not tenure. The percentages are not set yet because we will not invent thresholds before we have a rep's real numbers; the path is real and it is earned.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 6 months of genuine door-to-door sales experience. Valid driver's license. Reliable personal vehicle, available every working day. Comfortable walking neighborhoods and physically knocking doors, in all seasons. Comfortable with commission-based pay. Professional communication and reliability. Smartphone for SalesRabbit and job photos.
COMPENSATION
Commission-based. Starting rate is 10% of collected revenue on every job that comes from a customer you generate, including add-ons sold from that first assessment. No cap. Paid when Summit is paid. Proven producers have a path to higher commission rates as their production grows. No base salary, no training pay, no per-appointment fee.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through Indeed and answer the short screening questions. If you are a fit, you will hear from the owner directly
  • usually the same day
  • for a 15-minute phone call that includes a quick doorstep role-play.

What product or service did you sell door-to-door, and for which company? One or two lines. Do you have a valid driver's license AND your own reliable vehicle available every working day? You will be driving between neighborhoods across Placer County.
This role is commission-based:
a starting rate of 10% of collected revenue on jobs from customers you generate, no cap, no base salary, paid when Summit is paid, with higher rates earned through production. Are you comfortable with that pay structure? Most of your working time will be spent physically walking neighborhoods and knocking doors, including in summer heat and winter cold. Are you comfortable doing that consistently, week after week? The productive hours for this work are weekday afternoons and evenings (roughly 3-7:30 PM) and Saturdays.
