This position sits at the intersection of product expertise, client advisory, and commercial strategy , making it well-suited for individuals with a strong background in equities-particularly within asset management, index providers, or market data environments. This individual will partner closely with sales and client relationship teams, serving as a subject matter expert on index construction and applications. The role involves translating sophisticated methodologies into practical insights for institutional investors, while also contributing to product evolution and market expansion initiatives. The position is aligned to the West Coast market , with a strong focus on engaging institutional clients and supporting business growth across that region. Key Responsibilities Engage directly with institutional clients to deliver presentations, conduct tailored analyses, and explain index methodologies in a clear, actionable way Partner with commercial teams to identify and develop new revenue opportunities across a broad range of index strategies, including traditional benchmarks, ESG, factor-based, and customized solutions Support product strategy by relaying client feedback and market demand trends to internal stakeholders across research, product, and engineering Enhance brand presence and market awareness through external meetings, thought leadership, and participation in go-to-market efforts Build and maintain strong relationships with asset managers, pension funds, and other institutional investors Contribute to broader strategic initiatives such as competitive positioning, market sizing, and product performance tracking post-launch Candidate Profile 7+ years of experience within equities, including areas such as research, portfolio management, index strategy, or institutional sales Strong understanding of how equity indices are constructed and utilized within portfolio frameworks Demonstrated success in client engagement, business development, or revenue-generating roles Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner Commercially driven, with experience managing pipelines or contributing to growth targets Strong analytical capabilities; familiarity with backtesting or index analytics tools is preferred Professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are advantageous but not required Comfortable traveling for client meetings and regional engagement Fluent in English; additional languages considered a plus
