We help local businesses grow through strong branding, smart marketing strategy, and genuine community relationships. Our work is rooted in real connections — the kind built through chambers, networking groups, coffee meetings, and showing up consistently for the people and businesses around us. Role Overview We are seeking an energetic and proactive Local Business Development & Networking Representative to drive growth and build meaningful relationships throughout the Northern Colorado business community. In this role, you will be a face of Eleva Ease, actively engaging with local business owners, partners, and community stakeholders to expand our reach. Your enthusiasm for building connections, combined with a strategic mindset, will help unlock new opportunities and strengthen our local presence. The role centers on in-person networking, coffee meetings and 1:1s, follow-up, and light outreach that turns relationships into real business growth. This position is intended to transition into a W-2 employee role. It begins as a 1099 independent contractor during a structured training period so both sides can confirm fit before moving forward. Reports To President, Eleva Ease Location Ideal candidate lives in Fort Collins or Loveland, Colorado. The role covers Northern Colorado and beyond, since the President travels widely for networking and business development. This is not a remote position. Key Responsibilities Identify and target local businesses for partnership and growth opportunities. Attend chamber meetings, networking groups, ribbon cuttings, and community events on behalf of Eleva Ease. Attend coffee meetings and 1:1s with local business contacts on a regular basis. Coffee meetings and 1:1s are a required part of the role. Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients, partners, and referral sources. Deliver elevator pitches confidently and adapt messaging to each audience. Follow up on all business cards and networking contacts in a timely, professional manner. Maintain a target list of local businesses and dedicate light, consistent time each week to manual email outreach (no AI-written outreach). Document meetings, contacts, notes, and next steps in our CRM. Participate in a weekly 30-60 minute Zoom briefing and strategy call with the President. Contribute ideas for outreach, partnerships, and visibility — help refine our local growth strategy. Represent Eleva Ease professionally at all times, in person and in writing. Strategic business pop-ins (visiting local businesses to introduce Eleva Ease) will be added to the role once the contractor is comfortable with the position and ready to represent the brand independently. Schedule & Hours Minimum of 15 hours per month; hours vary based on events and outreach. Monthly event calendar is finalized the month prior (e.g., June planning for July). Must be punctual and reliable; flexibility within the schedule is expected. Some weeks will be busier than others; consistency over a 30-day cycle matters more than any single week. Compensation $17.00 per hour during the training period. Commission on sales. Bonuses for strong performance and growth milestones. Required Qualifications Lives in Fort Collins or Loveland, Colorado. Reliable transportation. Punctual and dependable. Maintains a professional appearance at all events, meetings, and pop-ins. Comfortable representing a woman-owned business. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of marketing principles, or a genuine willingness to learn. Strong public speaking skills. Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — to engage effectively with diverse audiences. Can craft emails without the use of AI. Strategic thinker — able to spot opportunities, suggest improvements, and contribute ideas. Strong interpersonal presence — confident, polished, socially at ease. Quick on their feet in conversation; able to think and adapt in real time. Creative, proactive, and energetic — brings ideas, not just follow-through. Genuinely interested in sales, marketing, and relationship building. Comfortable in chambers, networking groups, and small-business environments. Familiarity with a CRM platform is a plus, but training will be provided. Experience This is an entry-level position. Prior experience in business development, sales, marketing, or community relations is welcome, but we are willing to train the right person. Performance Expectations Performance during the training period will be reviewed against both activity and outcome benchmarks.
Examples include:
Consistent attendance at assigned networking events and chamber meetings. Regular coffee meetings and 1:1s with documented follow-up. Timely follow-up on business cards and meeting contacts. Qualified conversations and proposal opportunities each month. At least one closed sale or 2-3 serious proposal opportunities by the end of month 3. Strong performance during training may shorten the training period and accelerate the W-2 transition. Path to W-2 Employment This role is intended to transition into W-2 employment after the training period, assuming performance and fit meet expectations.
