Job Description

Position Title:
Group Sales & Special Events Coordinator Reports To:
General Manager, Cape Leisure Florida Caverns Overview:
Group Sales & Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of Cape Leisure Florida Caverns' group sales and special events programming at Florida Caverns State Park. This includes booking school field trips, youth and scouting trips and other group cavern tours, as well as both public special events such as concerts and festivals, and private special events such as weddings, birthdays and family reunions. Books pavilion rentals. This includes answering phone and in-person event inquiries, participation in the sales and contracting aspects of events, and assistance and oversight during events. In addition, assist with social media programs, in-park marketing, guest phone and email inquiries, and work closely with Cape Leisure's corporate marketing manager and advertising agency on other aspects of the park's marketing program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Answer phone, email and in-person guest, event & group inquiries. Provide prospective clients with relevant sales information such as event venue descriptions, catering menus and pricing. Conduct event facility tours for clients interested in holding their private special events at Florida Caverns State Park, primarily in the park's pavilions and on the Caverns Café patio. Contract and collect fees for private events, create banquet event orders and maintain the event calendar, utilizing the park's event management software. Promote and book group visits such as school and youth group field trips, senior group visits and group paddling events. Development, plan and implement park-wide special events. Support the CSO with their events. Assist with the park's social media and website, providing news and updates as required. Manage in-park marketing programs such park maps and A-frame boards. Work closely with Cape Leisure's corporate office on other marketing initiatives, including digital media and rack brochure distribution. Adhere to and enforce all Cape Leisure policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to food quality and safety, employee and guest safety, environmental and financial controls. Ensure that company assets, including equipment, money and inventories, are properly protected. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
Minimum of an associate's degree. Minimum of one year's experience in marketing, sales and or special events. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with general office computer software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire eight-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and carry for short distances. Must be willing to tolerate working outdoors year around and in warm interior environments. Must be able to visually inspect the condition of facilities and equipment. Must be comfortable in enclosed spaces underground as well as within the forest and waterways of the park. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
