Job Description

Job Overview This position is salary PLUS commission . Base pay minimum starting pay is $60,000 plus commission has the potential to be $120,000.00 including commission in the first year! Mid Florida Material Handling is seeking a motivated and technically Sales Rep to join our Tampa and Jacksonville area teams. This outside B2B sales role is ideal for someone with a background in construction, industrial or material handling who enjoys building relationships and solving customer problems through customized warehouse racking and mezzanine solutions. You will also be selling forklifts and material handling equipment. You'll be responsible for managing the entire sales process - from client prospecting and site visits to drafting layouts and presenting proposals. A working knowledge and experience with drafting software (AutoCAD or other) is required. Ability to make good judgments and quick decisions. Must be able to work closely with clients, understand their needs, and create solutions that optimize storage and workflow efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the material handling industry using various tactics including cold calling, inside sales, promotions, research, etc.
  • Manage relationships with current customers.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess warehouse layout needs and develop racking and mezzanine system designs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed drawings and design proposals.
  • Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and proposals.
  • Work closely with the internal team to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Provide technical expertise and project recommendations based on the industry's best practices in the industry.
  • Conduct site visits and take accurate measures to develop system layouts.
  • Put together cost estimations and pricing for custom solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Stay updated on material handling industry trends and technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the material handling or industrial equipment sector. 2+ years of B2B sales experience (construction or industrial sectors preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, engineering degree preferred
  • Experience in material handling, warehouse design, or racking systems is preferred.
  • Experience in B2B technical sales or consultative selling.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety regulations related to racking and mezzanine structures.
  • Familiarity with structural load calculations and warehouse logistics.
