JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
Route Service Representative
REPORTS TO
Branch/Route Manager
OBJECTIVE
The Route Service Representative (RSR) is responsible for conducting laundry deliveries and pickups from customer locations. The RSR handles processing paperwork to ensure correct delivery and receipting, and is expected to conduct the delivery vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Verifies that all systems are in order before deliveries, including performing and documenting pre-trip and post trip inspections of delivery vehicle and checking paperwork to make sure everything is in order Drive a van/truck along an established route and service and sell within an existing customer base Work indoor/outdoor position while delivering and picking up uniforms, shop towels, facility service products and other rental items Ensure all items specified in the delivery receipt are included in the delivery, and obtain a confirmation signature from a facility representative Help grow our existing customer base by upselling and cross-selling additional products and services, negotiating service agreement renewals and controlling inventory all while working professionally, safely and in compliance with driving and vehicle regulations Responsible for unloading and loading van/truck for next day Delivers cleaned uniforms and industrial items to the customer as well as picking up soiled products and loading onto van/truck Reports any customer feedback or vehicle problems to the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (3 years) Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements (drug/alcohol test, fit-for-duty test, DOT physical) Able to read, write & count Must be able to use an electronic handheld/cell phone Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations Strong teamwork skills- ready and willing to work closely with team members Great people skills, communications skills & great client relations and customer service skills Ability to remain organized and balance incoming customer requests/issues in a fast-paced environment Ability to work with limited direction on a daily basis
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, and be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, lift, push and walk Must be able to drive a truck/van with ease and be able to sit for extended periods of time while driving the delivery truck Must have the physical ability to move rolling carts of varying weights - up to and exceeding approximately 250lbs. Ability to work during all seasons with exposure to outside elements
