Bellwood, IL Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $60,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits Lunch & learns Qualifications Record keeping Research Bachelor's degree Newsletters (communication methods) Financial acumen Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description This position assists the Director of Marketing and Leadership Team in the development and implementation of a strategic, multi-faceted business development program designed to promote, retain and increase the Credit Union's membership and visibility in the communities that we serve. This position will also help grow, support and expand relationships with individual members and affiliated companies and organizations as well as residents of the greater Chicagoland area by acquiring new partners for the credit union through building an Employer Partnership Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop opportunities to promote, retain and increase credit union membership and profitability within the credit union's affiliated companies and organizations as well as in local communities consistent with our strategic objectives. Schedule and represent the credit union at member events including on-site open enrollments/benefit fairs, seminars/presentations and promotional events. Develop opportunities and represent the credit union at local community events and networking functions to help increase brand visibility in the communities we serve. Cultivate a wide variety of contacts both inside and outside the credit union industry, coordinating business development activities, promoting services, exchanging information, and representing the credit union at civic and trade functions, professional organizations and philanthropic groups. Maintain active membership in local Chamber of Commerce groups, Economic Development Corporations, and other local organizations. Function as an integral part of the Leadership Team. Achieve position and organization sales goals. Evaluate effectiveness of Business Development programs, and propose new procedures and programs to increase membership, cross sales and credit union profitability. Prospect new partnerships for the credit union through networking, cold calling and staff leads. Work to create an Employer Partnership Program with businesses in our service area. Develop special offers, newsletters, email blasts, lunch and learns etc. for employer partners. Research and stay abreast of industry trends and demographics. Ensure that all information and transactions regarding credit union members are kept confidential. Keep current knowledge of credit union philosophy, credit unions services, and policies. Cooperate with other department personnel to ensure a "team effort" and prompt member service. Perform all duties in accordance with the credit union's service standards, operations policies, and procedures, and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Identify reportable transactions and activities under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), its implementing regulations, and Central Credit Union of Illinois Anti-Money Laundering program. Comply with requirements under Central Credit Union of Illinois Member (Customer) Identification Program (CIP), FinCEN 314a procedures, and OFAC regulations and sanction programs. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Work will be performed on credit union sites or in the field at appointments (Not a work from home position).
Qualifications:
Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for serving credit union members and projecting a positive image as a representative of the credit union to administrators, executives and community leaders. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects, keep accurate records and work within deadlines. Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a high level of initiative. Analytical skills to design and implement effective action plans and evaluate results. Willing to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficiency with personal computers and job specific programs including Salesforce or experience working with a CRM system. Excellent telephone manners and techniques. Ability to maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members, and outside vendors. Must have reliable transportation to complete field appointments.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is required 3 - 5 years of experience working in Sales and/or Business Development Understanding and knowledge of the financial
