Job Description
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, following leads, converting opportunities into booked events, and helping create smooth, memorable client experiences from start to finish.
The right candidate will be comfortable prospecting for new clients, managing warm and inbound leads, supporting proposals and event planning, and representing the company professionally at networking and social events when needed. This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into full-time as the role proves its value and business volume increases. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Manage inbound inquiries and warm leads with timely follow-up Prospect for new business opportunities across corporate, nonprofit, and milestone event markets Build relationships with potential and repeat clients Support proposal follow-up and help move inquiries toward booking Identify opportunities for repeat business and client retention Maintain strong lead tracking and communication systems Client Experience & Event Support Serve as a client-facing point of contact throughout the event sales process Help guide clients from inquiry through planning and handoff into execution Support walkthroughs, event details, and timeline coordination as needed Work alongside the Executive Chef to help shape memorable food experiences for clients Help ensure smooth communication between client expectations and internal execution Brand Representation Represent Cajun Cafe Chicago professionally at networking events, tastings, venue visits, and social opportunities as needed Support relationship-building in the marketplace Contribute to a warm, polished, hospitality-forward brand presence Ideal Candidate Outgoing, polished, and relationship-driven Strong verbal and written communication skills Organized and able to manage multiple moving parts Comfortable with sales, follow-up, and client communication Hospitality, catering, restaurant events, hotel sales, or venue experience preferred Existing book of business is a plus Able to work collaboratively with a founder-led business and contribute without overpowering leadership Comfortable working in a growing business environment where systems are evolving Compensation Part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership track Hourly compensation based on experience Commission or bonus structure strongly preferred for booked business Flexible hours based on event volume and business needs Growth Opportunity This role is designed for someone who wants to grow with the company. There is clear potential for this position to evolve into a larger sales, events, or client experience leadership role as business needs expand.
