Job Description :
Chicago Marriot Northwest is looking for a Banquet Sales Manager. Responsible for all sales efforts related to group events, parties, catering and any other sales related functions. Must have 2 to 5 years banquet and relevant experience. Marriott Experience required Salary will be based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements and executes group sales, including making sales calls, as well as in person visits to businesses and fundraising organizations in attempt to network and drive revenue. Responsible for accounting details including the development of invoices and collection of payments Develops an understanding of target customers and their individual needs Reserve, coordinate and detail corporate and social events. Produce weekly group sales reports, sales strategies and updates on revenue. Coordinate the food and beverage service, linens, and all other rentals for each event Manage guest surveys and overall guest satisfaction. Point of contact for each group or event to ensure customer satisfaction Works closely with the kitchen and banquet staff to ensure flawless execution
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree required, ideally in in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or Sales Minimum of 5 years' experience with responsibility for large volume events. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with an ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy. Ability to exercise sound business judgment generating effective solutions quickly and/or raising issues to management as necessary. Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Team player with an exceptional customer service attitude. Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
