A Business Development Specialist identifies new business opportunities and clients for a company, identifies new products, services and lines of business, and develops marketing and sales strategies to help grow a company's business. Collects and manages data on sales and business processes, does market research, and stays informed of industry trends and dynamics. Builds customer relationships and partnerships. Reports to a Business Development Manager or Director.
The Business Development & Recruitment Representative is responsible for driving agency growth by developing referral relationships, increasing patient census, and supporting the recruitment of qualified pediatric nurses. This role combines external marketing, relationship management, and internal staffing support to ensure the agency meets both client needs and staffing demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources including hospitals, pediatricians, case managers, schools, and community organizations. Promote pediatric home nursing services to increase patient referrals and census growth. Conduct outreach visits, presentations, and networking events. Identify new business opportunities within the pediatric home care market. Coordinate with intake and clinical teams to ensure timely processing of new referrals. Follow up on leads and maintain consistent communication with referral sources. Track referral trends and provide regular updates to leadership. Actively recruit pediatric RNs and LPNs to meet staffing needs. Post job openings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews with clinical leadership. Build relationships with nursing schools, job boards, and community networks. Support onboarding processes in collaboration with HR and clinical educators. Collaborate with scheduling and clinical teams to match nurses with patient cases. Help address staffing gaps to ensure continuity of care. Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for ongoing staffing needs. Represent the agency at community events, health fairs, nursing school events and career fairs. Build brand awareness within the pediatric healthcare community. Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referrals, and recruitment efforts. Track key performance metrics such as referral conversions and hiring outcomes. Provide regular reports to management on business development and recruitment progress.
Qualifications:
Education- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in home nursing, private duty nursing or Nurse recruitment Experience in pediatric home care or nurse staffing (preferred) Proven track record in business development or healthcare sales

Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
