This is an individual-contributor sales position focused on developing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective customers in the field. You'll spend your time meeting customers, visiting facilities and job sites, identifying opportunities, recommending products, and helping customers find the right commercial door, frame, and hardware solutions. Our strong preference is for a candidate with experience in Division 8 commercial doors, frames, and hardware who already understands the products and can become productive with limited supervision. Candidates with related Division 10 or strong commercial construction sales experience may also be considered. What You'll Do Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with existing and prospective end-user customers. Conduct face-to-face customer meetings and field visits to identify needs and new sales opportunities. Serve as a knowledgeable resource to customers regarding commercial doors, frames, finish hardware, and related products. Learn each customer's operation and recommend appropriate products and solutions based on their specific facility or project needs. Generate new business through networking, relationship development, prospecting, and consistent customer follow-up. Respond to customer calls and inquiries, take orders, answer product questions, and connect customers with additional internal resources when necessary. Review plans and specifications, identify potential opportunities, and work to convert those opportunities into sales. Create and release sales orders using the company operating system. Provide accurate information to internal support teams to facilitate successful order fulfillment. Participate in sales forecasting and planning. Continually develop knowledge of commercial doors, frames, finish hardware, applicable building codes, industry standards, and new products. Independently manage a field-based sales schedule that includes customer appointments, site visits, prospecting, follow-up, and required team meetings. Represent the company professionally while providing a high level of customer service throughout the sales process. What We're Looking For Outside sales experience is required. Commercial Door/Frame/Hardware experience within CSI Division 8 and/or Division 10 is strongly preferred. Approximately 2+ years of experience selling doors, frames, hardware, or related commercial construction products is especially attractive. Strong product knowledge and the ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Proven ability to develop relationships and generate business through face-to-face sales. Self-motivated, outgoing, and comfortable initiating conversations with new customers. Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and door and hardware schedules. Strong verbal, written, presentation, and customer-service skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple customer needs, projects, and opportunities simultaneously. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Comsense experience is highly desirable. Willingness to spend significant time in the field visiting customers and project locations. In addition to base salary, the position offers a monthly commission program. What the Work Environment Looks Like This is a true outside sales opportunity. While the position is connected to the Springfield office, successful sales representatives are expected to spend significant time in the field with customers rather than sitting in the office every day.
