The Client Relationship Officer is responsible for proactive business development in an assigned market, reporting directly to the Client Relationship Sales Development Manager. This position is responsible for loan, deposit and revenue growth through the development of new customer relationships or the enhancement of existing relationships. Target market is businesses, business owners, corporate executives, not-for-profit organizations, professionals and retirees.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and executes an individual business plan to achieve new relationship acquisition, business partner referrals and existing relationship expansion. Collects and analyzes client financial information. Provides guidance on complex financial solutions and transactions to both business and individual clients. Introduces appropriate partners to market the bank's investment services, financial planning services, commercial product offerings and retail products and services. Proactively contacts prospects and centers of influence (individually and jointly with business partners) to generate new relationships. Majority (80%) of time is spent sourcing new relationships outside of the branch to meet or exceed assigned sales goals. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with branch personnel and business partners. Maintains relevant knowledge as it relates to economic conditions, competitive offerings, product and service solutions, and market activities. Participates in community, business, and networking groups to promote the overall image of FAB both during and after business hours. Consistently communicates with the Manager regarding product improvement recommendations, escalating customer concerns and business development issues. Responsible for reporting sales activity and outbound efforts to the Client Relations Sales Development Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred, but commensurate sales and proven business development experience is acceptable. A solid knowledge of banking and bank lending fundamentals are required. 10+ years of banking, lending and sales experience. 5+ years experience in an environment focused on business development. Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills are essential due to the highly interactive nature of the position. Ability to communicate benefits of strategies and products resulting in new business. Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to make critical decisions independently. Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Strong professional presence. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required. Must have ability to work with multiple bank systems and be comfortable with software/database applications. This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's market. Travel is required whenever and wherever a client need exists. Ability to work regularly scheduled hours Monday - Friday with some before hours, after hours and weekends required, particularly to adapt to client schedules and business networking events when necessary.
