Sales Support Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Sales Support Specialist to join a dynamic inside sales team within the manufacturing industry. This role plays a critical part in managing customer accounts, processing complex orders, and ensuring accurate, timely service across domestic and international clients. Key Responsibilities Manage customer accounts with a focus on customer satisfaction, sales growth, and margin improvement Handle customer requests including quotes, order entry, tracking, and delivery updates Process 50-75 complex orders daily with multiple line items Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email (210-265 emails/day) Resolve customer issues, including returns, credits, and debits Communicate customer needs with operations and engineering teams Support outside sales representatives and collaborate across teams Monitor pricing agreements and maintain accurate documentation Perform detailed contract/order reviews prior to processing Manage shipping logistics and routing, including freight terms (prepaid, collect, third-party) Ensure accuracy in order details to avoid costly errors Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in: Manufacturing sales support OR Manufacturing customer service Strong experience with order entry and product knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong math skills (fractions, decimals) High attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems (QAD strongly preferred) Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial products Required Skills Exceptional attention to detail Strong multitasking and organizational skills Professional communication (written and verbal) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Training & Development Comprehensive 14-week training program covering: Systems (ERP, internal tools) Product lines Order entry and quoting processes Ongoing training with real-world examples and evolving processes Work Environment Onsite, structured office environment Collaborative team setting (24-30 team members across regions) Modern, paperless workflow systems Full ownership of quoting and order entry processes Performance Expectations Ability to manage high-volume workload from day one Strong adherence to deadlines and accuracy standards Direct impact on customer satisfaction and company financial performance What This Role Offers Hands-on experience across the full sales support lifecycle Exposure to both domestic and international business operations Opportunity to build expertise in ERP systems and manufacturing processes Strong emphasis on professional growth and continuous learning Competitive compensation with annual increase potential Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL.
