OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting Inside Foodservice Sales Representative opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Inside Foodservice Sales Representative position is responsible for managing an account base promoting and selling foodservice fresh and frozen pork and value added fresh pork products into a defined region of responsibility in the United States.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing all aspects of the business of selling and promoting the company's products to existing customers and targeted prospects in his/ her defined region of responsibility. Be the primary day-to-day corporate contact for established and prospective customers of their region. Identify potential growth areas and develop new accounts within designated territory. Call prospective customers to explain types of products offered and their benefits to the customer, versus the competition. Stay informed on meat protein market dynamics by proactively sourcing intelligence through customer and industry relationships, and by partnering with pricing, sales leader, and product line management teams to support data-driven decision-making. Quote prices and persuade customers to buy. Proactively collaborate with product scheduling, product line management, frozen inventory planners throughout the sales cycle to manage frozen product stock levels and product inventory rotation. Manage the entire order process from front to back.

Including block formation, firming orders, and notifying the customers of shortages, overages, add-ons, and substitutions. Prepare reports on sales activities. Work closely with Outside Regional Sales Managers, FS Sales Manager Lead, Director of Sales Support, and Vice President - Foodservice Sales to develop and execute a plan to achieve sales goals. Assist in providing quality service to customers. Assist with customer visits to our processing facilities. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:
Proven track record with at least 3-5 years of experience and / or training; or equivalent of education and experience in food service or retail sales experience required. Ability to read and interpret price lists, availability reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Highly organized, detail orientated and possesses ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent listening, negotiating, presentation, and analytical skills
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree preferred Fresh Meat, pork and protein experience preferred Professional telephone skills. Some phone selling experience preferred. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentage, area, and volume. Basic knowledge of packing plant operations and pork product specifications is preferred Assertive personality with ethics and integrity Experience in Excel, Tableau, and AS400 systems preferred.
