IBP provides forklift batteries, battery chargers, and ongoing battery and charger service programs to businesses that operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This is a business-to-business outside sales position focused on new business development. You will spend your time identifying opportunities, cold calling, visiting customer locations, following up on sales leads, and building relationships with new and dormant customers. A major focus of this position is selling our proactive service and asset-management programs , which help customers maintain their forklift battery and charger fleets, identify problems before they cause downtime, and better manage their equipment. What You'll Do Prospect for new customers throughout the branch's market. Reconnect with dormant IBP customers and work to win back former customers. Follow up on sales leads and account information provided through our CRM and internal systems. Cold call prospective customers by phone and in person. Visit warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and other businesses that operate forklifts. Talk with customers about their forklift battery and charger fleet, current service practices, equipment condition, and operational needs. Conduct basic site visits and battery/equipment surveys to identify service opportunities. Introduce customers to IBP's proactive maintenance and asset-management programs. Develop relationships with decision-makers and uncover opportunities where IBP can provide value. Prepare quotes and proposals and follow opportunities through the full sales process. Close new business. Keep sales activities, leads, quotes, and opportunities updated in our CRM. Work closely with our branch operations and service teams to make sure we can deliver what is promised to the customer. Pass other forklift battery, charger, or equipment sales opportunities to the appropriate IBP salesperson when needed. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who already knows how to sell in the field and develop business from the ground up.
