Job Description

Ascension Party Rentals is a 20+ year event rental company in Gonzales serving weddings, corporate events, and major industrial clients across the Baton Rouge metro. We are hiring for our office team and we will train the right person from the ground up. You do not need event industry experience, though it is a plus if you have it. What we are really hiring for is attitude: someone upbeat, personable, and genuinely fun to talk to, because you will be the first voice our clients hear when they call about their wedding, their company event, or their daughter's graduation party. If people tell you that you light up a room, this might be your seat. What you'll do: Answer inbound calls and emails from clients planning weddings, corporate events, and celebrations Build quotes, orders, and bookings in our rental software Guide clients through equipment options, pricing, and logistics Coordinate with our warehouse and delivery crews on event details Keep client files, payments, and paperwork accurate and current How the pay ladder works: Every role here has 8 written raise steps, and you climb by getting good, not by waiting around. We train you on our booking software, on handling clients, and on building quotes and orders. Your first raises come when you can run standard jobs start to finish without needing us to check your work. From there, you earn more as you learn how events really work: helping clients build better orders, upselling the details that make their event better, and becoming the person clients trust with their day. The top of the ladder is for someone who goes out and brings in new business and revenue on their own. The ladder runs to $22.51/hr with promotion paths beyond it. This is a written scale posted in our office, not a promise. Ask to see it in your interview. The growth potential here is real: learn the rental industry, learn to talk the game, and grow with a company that has been building for 20+ years and is investing in its event division right now.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, full-time office hours Every other Saturday morning, year round, with a half-day off during the week to trade for it No nights What we need from you: A great attitude and a personality that comes through the phone Comfortable and professional on busy days with the line ringing Organized and detail-focused: bookings, payments, and event dates have to be right Able to learn new software quickly (booking, POS, or CRM experience is a plus, not a requirement) Reliable. Our clients plan the biggest days of their lives around us Sales, customer service, restaurant, retail, or front-desk background is a strong plus Why this seat matters: You are the first voice our clients hear. Weddings, corporate events, LSU game weekends: they all start with this desk. If you want a real career seat with a written growth path instead of another dead-end front desk job, this is it.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) matching Paid time off Application Question(s): Are you available full-time Monday through Friday, plus every other Saturday morning? Describe your experience handling phone calls with customers or clients. Have you used any booking, scheduling, POS, or CRM software? If yes, which ones? Tell us about a time a customer or coworker would say you made their day better. This role starts at $17 to $20/hr based on experience, with a written raise ladder to $22.51 as you hit training milestones. Does that starting range work for you?
