Job Description
Experienced Generator Sales Representative About the Role We are looking for an experienced Generator Sales Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in generator sales, understands backup power systems, and knows how to build lasting relationships with residential, commercial, and/or industrial customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who can manage the entire sales process—from generating leads and conducting site visits to presenting solutions, closing deals, and maintaining customer relationships. Responsibilities Generate and develop new generator sales opportunities through leads, referrals, networking, and prospecting. Meet with residential, commercial, and/or industrial customers to understand their backup power needs. Recommend appropriate generator systems based on customer requirements, property specifications, and budget. Conduct customer consultations and site visits when necessary. Prepare accurate proposals, estimates, and sales presentations. Explain generator systems, installation requirements, maintenance options, warranties, and financing. Follow up consistently with prospects and customers throughout the sales process. Build strong relationships with homeowners, contractors, electricians, property managers, and commercial customers. Maintain accurate customer and sales information in the company's CRM. Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals. Coordinate with installation and service teams to ensure a smooth customer experience. Stay current on generator products, industry trends, and competing solutions. Qualifications 3+ years of proven sales experience in the generator, standby power, HVAC, electrical, construction, or related industry. Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial backup generator systems. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Ability to understand customer needs and recommend the right solution. Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently. Professional appearance and excellent customer-service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to use CRM systems, email, and standard sales software. Ability to read and understand basic electrical or mechanical specifications is a plus.
