We're a VC-backed, post-Series C climate tech company entering our next stage of growth. We're located in Central Square, Cambridge and are passionate about our mission! This is a great opportunity to work with a team of experienced entrepreneurs creating technology that will really make a difference in the world. Our mission is to reduce global carbon emissions by making homes smart and efficient, and we're looking to make an impact at scale: Sense's technology has the potential to prevent one gigaton of carbon from entering the atmosphere every year. Corporate Development Associate We're looking for talented self-starters who want to be part of the energy transformation and are ready, willing, and able to tackle tough challenges and complex technical problems. When you join the Sense team, you're helping us build a cleaner, more resilient future. Sense supports a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and is an equal-opportunity employer. We strive to foster an engaging, respectful, and supportive community where everyone feels empowered to do their best work. Role Overview As a Corporate Development Associate at Sense, you'll work directly with our CEO, COO, and finance leadership on the fundraising, partnership, and strategic projects that shape the company's next stage. You'll own the operating rhythm behind those processes: keeping the pipeline and trackers current, preparing briefing materials ahead of meetings, attending meetings, coordinating scheduling and follow-ups, getting agreements executed, managing data room access, and project managing diligence requests through to closure. The work is high-exposure and moves quickly, and you'll see how decisions actually get made at the executive level of a company at an inflection point.
You should be:
Exceptionally organized, and energized rather than daunted by owning many parallel threads at once. Comfortable driving a process forward, which includes following up with senior people inside and outside the company until things are actually done. A clear and precise writer, able to handle correspondence with external partners and investors without needing it edited. Fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets and Slides, and comfortable working alongside our finance team on models and analysis. Discreet, with good instincts about confidential and market-sensitive information. Curious about how the energy industry works, and willing to learn enough about our technology to prepare materials and organize diligence intelligently. Interested in breadth over specialization, and looking for a role where the scope grows with what you can handle. Ready to work in person with a small team, where the fastest way to solve something is usually to walk over and ask. Work Model This position is in-person or hybrid, based in our Cambridge, MA office. The role depends on close day-to-day work with the executive team, so it is not a remote position. Our wider team is a mix of in-person, hybrid, and remote employees. Requirements 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a comparable analytical and process-driven role, with a degree in a relevant field Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a track record of owning trackers, timelines, and follow-ups across many simultaneous workstreams Strong written communication, including professional correspondence with senior external contacts Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets and Slides, and Claude skills, and comfort building and maintaining financial models Sound judgment handling confidential and market-sensitive information Comfortable working directly with a CEO and executive team, and willing to hold senior people to commitments Experience supporting a financing, M&A, or diligence process is a plus Energy industry or climate tech experience is a plus Authorized to work in the US Compensation is $100 - 150k Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) Short Term & Long Term Disability Training & Development Free Food & Snacks Wellness Resources Stock Option Plan
