Job Description
The Sales Consultant plays an integral role in the success of Central Maine Motors Auto Group. As a Sales Consultant, you will be the face of the dealership as you develop and build lasting customer relationships by providing an exceptional customer experience during the vehicle selection and sales process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
Builds rapport with customers and presents new and used vehicles in a friendly and professional manner that encourages customer loyalty. Performs vehicle walk-arounds and conducts test drives with prospective customers. Serves as a subject matter expert on vehicle selection, performance, accessories, safety, features and functions, and financing options for all new and used vehicles in order to promote a prompt sale. Actively seeks information from customers to understand situations, buying motive, and desired potential vehicle. Assists customers with all necessary paperwork related to the sale and with legal documents. Performs ongoing communication/relationship building with customers in order to encourage networking and repeat business. Strives to meet or exceed factory standards for customer satisfaction (CSI,SSI) Maintains accurate and up-to-date customer records before, during and after the sale. Prospects for new customers and customer referrals and responds to customer inquiries through internet leads, email and phone calls. Works hours scheduled, and maintains flexibility as situations arise. Participates in professional training opportunities through in house, factory training seminars, and weekly in store sales meetings in order to enhance sales skills and professional development. Reports any mechanical or cosmetic problems with new and used vehicles to Sales Manager in order to maintain a clean and well presented inventory. Works effectively with others by valuing and practicing teamwork at all times and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Maintains a safe work environment and follows all policies and procedures.WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Sales Consultant works in both a traditional office environment as well as outside, in any temperature and/or weather situations. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines. This will require the employee to sit and use hands and arms for typing, touching and reaching. Work outside the showroom requires the employee to be active, routinely walking short distances and occasionally running. The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 50lbs.'
