Job Description

The Office Planning Group, Inc. is seeking a fulltime Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. OPG has been working to meet the needs of businesses in the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin for over 35 years . We have offices in Iron Mountain, Marquette, Hancock, and Menominee, MI. We are a tight knit, supportive team dedicated to providing the highest quality products and service to our customers. The role of the Business Development Specialist is to develop new and lasting relationships with customers who are in need of our products and services. In this unique sales position, you would have the advantage of working in a well-established territory. This position affords the opportunity to build these relationships by traveling to customer sites and to interact with many new people. The Business Development Specialist has the following duties:
  • Communicating with and visiting customers to determine their needs.
  • Learning and assisting with customer work flows.
  • Recommend and quote appropriate customer solutions.
  • Find new equipment sales opportunities.
  • Maintain contacts and schedule visits using an industry specific Customer Relationship Management system. (CRM)
  • Follow up on leads from service technicians and other team members.
  • Train and support customers as necessary.
  • Gather information by performing research & developing customer specific cost analysis.
Helpful Skills and Experience:
  • Prior Customer Support and/or Customer Success Experience.
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills.
  • Negotiation skills are a must, as well as a strong ability to connect with people.
  • Ability to organize, break down, and clearly articulate thoughts & ideas.
  • Strong ability to take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions.
  • Presentation experience and networking skills are also essential.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed way.
