About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sales & Marketing Lead Qualification Specialist to support our sales and marketing teams within the construction industry. This role will manage new lead opportunities from initial contact through qualification and follow-up. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the construction industry and an understanding of construction-related products, services, projects, terminology, and customer needs. This position requires an excellent communicator who can build relationships, ask thoughtful questions, stay organized, and determine whether a potential opportunity aligns with the company's capabilities. Key Responsibilities Contact all new lead opportunities promptly by phone, email, or other approved communication methods. Introduce prospective customers to the company and explain our construction-related products, services, and capabilities. Gather detailed information about each customer's project, needs, goals, challenges, ideas, budget, timeline, location, and decision-making process. Enter and maintain accurate lead and opportunity information in the company's CRM system. Prequalify leads by evaluating their project requirements, needs, timing, potential fit, and alignment with the company's ability to provide an effective solution. Identify qualified opportunities and route them to the appropriate sales team member. Follow up with leads when sales team members are unavailable or when additional communication is needed. Schedule appointments, consultations, site visits, estimates, demonstrations, or discovery calls as appropriate. Maintain professional communication with prospective customers throughout the qualification process. Track lead activity, follow-ups, outcomes, and next steps in the CRM. Communicate important customer and project information to the sales and marketing teams. Help identify common customer needs, construction trends, and recurring questions that may support future marketing and sales efforts. Ensure leads receive timely responses and a positive experience with the company. Qualifications Previous experience in sales support, lead generation, customer service, inside sales, marketing, construction, or a related role. Knowledge of the construction industry is required. Familiarity with construction terminology, project types, customer needs, project timelines, and the general construction sales process. Ability to understand customer project requirements and determine whether they align with the company's capabilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish rapport and build professional relationships with potential customers. Strong listening, questioning, and information-gathering skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple leads and follow-up activities simultaneously. Comfortable using CRM systems, email, spreadsheets, and standard office technology. Professional, dependable, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach. Ability to work effectively with sales, marketing, estimating, project management, and operations teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience working for a construction company, contractor, subcontractor, supplier, manufacturer, or other construction-related business. Experience qualifying construction or project-based leads. Familiarity with construction estimates, bids, plans, specifications, work scopes, or project documentation. Experience with [CRM platform, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho]. Experience scheduling consultations, site visits, estimates, or sales appointments. Knowledge of [specific construction specialty, products, or services]. In this role, success means: New leads are contacted promptly and professionally. Customer and project information is accurately documented in the CRM. Construction-related needs and requirements are clearly understood and recorded. Qualified opportunities are efficiently transferred to the sales team. Leads receive timely follow-up and a positive customer experience.
