Inver Grove Heights, MN Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $120,000 a year 20 hours ago Qualifications Customer service Spreadsheets Process improvement Change management Driver's License Computer skills Full Job Description As the automotive acquisition specialist, you will be responsible for purchasing pre-owned vehicles for the MAG dealership lots. You are to model behaviors and a culture for success, including integrity, respect, drive, community, fun, and pride without ego, with self-confidence, and creativity. Job Duties and Responsibilities, including, but not limited to: Purchase 25-40+ vehicles via non-auction sources per month Facebook Craigslist Dealer lots Drive by Search the service appointment list for units we are interested in for the store Leverage Tekion /vAuto appointment list to search for vehicles and give the list to the BDC to call and offer appraisal. Create a network of dealers to wholesale vehicles to us via buy bids Schedule pickups of vehicles, make sure all necessary paperwork is completed and turned in to the office in a timely manner. Stock in vehicle to Tekion and vAuto, as well as complete vehicle check in packet; tag vehicle in vAuto as demarked vehicle purchase as ex. John Doe, JDVP. Track purchases via Smartsheet for compensation purposes. Assist the sales department with appraisals as necessary (sparingly). Inventory stocking aligned with market demand and cost trends Maintain a superset (Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Equinox) of used vehicles based on top sellers while supplementing with fast-moving pieces according to market day supply. Partner with General Manager(s) to determine what and when to buy. Should be based on the provisioning model, demand trends observed by sales managers, and cost trends observed by buyer. Include transport time and cost when calculating profit. Coordinate the transportation and delivery of vehicles and titles to Mauer Communicate trends observed in wholesale markets to the purchasing team and work together to attack different pockets of the used vehicle market (not all fishing for the same fish in the same hole).
Schedule:
M-F 8AM-5PM
(could be earlier if focused on service lane) with occasional Saturdays as needed. Strong utilization of the CRM to maximize vehicle sales opportunities. Ensure that the work areas and guest areas are kept clean. Maintain safe work environment. Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Strong motivation. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to manage change and detail-oriented processes. Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean record. Comply with all dealership and manufacturer job-related training and requirements. Adhere to the employee handbook policies and procedures. Excellent computer skills, including Excel. Ability to achieve goals with high guest satisfaction ratings. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to influence management on process improvements.
